Provision and Environment

The Preschool is registered for 32 children when two rooms are in use. When the smaller room is used the maximum children on register is 20.

Mornings in the preschool tend to be the busiest and this is when the children have access to four areas; the small room which is intimate and cosy where quieter activities can be accessed. This room is particularly a favourite of children who are shy and less confident. The main hall has activities for more robust play, which require a larger space i.e. climbing equipment, large role play and construction. Our third space is outdoors which we have developed over the last few years and we continue to review and develop this area to enhance the current provision. The entrance hall is used for snack time and small group work i.e.: Letters and sounds

Outdoor Space

We have spent time developing the large outdoor space which now has a sand pit and garden area for planting and growing. There are opportunities for extensive water play and large contruction. Wheeled equipment is also available and the children enjoy the ramped areas when using trikes and scooters. More so in the hot weather, the children enjoy story time under the tree!

The large outdoor space is also available for the children who attend the After School Clubs. Football, tennis, badminton are some of the games they play.
